12 steps to an awesome morning routine

 
 
 

Carrying on from last week...

Take a usual routine: Alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep in for another 15minutes.. Finally you wake up, check on the kids if you have kids (or your kids or partner has woken you up) - get up go to the bathroom, grab your phone and start checking emails. Go to the kitchen make a coffee or tea, start making kids breakfast. [Still checking emails]. You don't have time to make your own as you look at the clock and you are running late. You have an hour to get yourself ready (and the kids ready) - so you make toast or eat cereal... or eat nothing.. You have missed your usual PT session or going for a walk/run as you slept in. You haven't got a clean shirt or dress, so you're trying to find one or iron a clean one, you changed your dress/shirt/shoes as you don't like the one(s) you had on and now you realise you are running late. You argue with your partner [still checking emails] on the way out the door..... Finally you leave the house, kids in toe, [checking emails at the lights]. You get stuck in traffic, now you're running super late.. your STRESS levels are through the roof. Someone cuts you off in traffic, your SRESS levels rise again.. you get every red light.. Finally you (drop kids off) get to work, have another coffee... still haven't eaten..Check emails as soon as you sit down, start on the most urgent email first.. Get interrupted by colleagues or phone calls—Sound familiar?

As discussed in the previous post "The key to being successful is having a routine—and not any normal routine, but an awesome routine. A good routine forces good habits and without noticing, this routine will become part of your daily life, resulting in massive success

I'm not just talking about getting in a healthy eating routine or waking up every morning at 5am then watching TV or answering emails, while that's a kind of a start to a routine..Your routine starts when you wake up and finishes when you go to bed, and there are a number of critical stages in between that will set your day up for success.
